UPDATE 12:18 p.m.: A man found dead in Lake Michigan has been identified as Christopher J. Melik, 48, of Waupaca.according to a press release by the Racine County Sheriff’s Department.

According to a press release by the Racine County Sheriff’s Department, an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death is ongoing. But it is not believed to be suspicious in nature.

“The Racine County Sheriff’s Office would like to express our sincere condolences to Christopher Melki’s family during this difficult time,” according to the release.

ORIGINAL STORY: The Racine County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the death of a man found on Sunday in Lake Michigan just should of Meyer Park.

A person found the man at 2:10 p.m. The man’s identity is unknown. First responders took the man’s body out of the water

The man is described as being a white man, about 250 pounds, six-foot one-inch tall and had brown hair. He had a number of tattoos on his arms. On the right side of his chest, he had a horse with a warrior. On the left side of his chest, he had a beheaded warrior on a horse. On his left forearm, he had two women and numbers tattooed on his left knuckles.
