Teri Scott Petersen, 54, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, due to a cardiac arrest.  Teri was born in Racine on April 2, 1963, son of the late Richard and Carolyn (Nee: Raymond) Petersen.

Teri attended Walden High School.  In his youth, he enjoyed marching with the Kiltie Kadets and Racine Kilties Drum and Bugle Corps.  He proudly served for 22 years in the U.S. Army 10th Mountain Division 3rd Brigade and U.S Army Reserves, last stationed in Afghanistan, retiring 7-7-07.  He was currently employed at Putzmeister.  Teri was a “Mister Fix It” and always was ready to lend a helping hand.  He was happy to just having restored his 1975 moped.  He will be dearly missed.

Surviving are wife- Kim Marie (Nee: Fortier); children, Justin O’Brien, Joshua Neveri, Amberlyn Fortier-Petersen; stepsons, Austin and Alexander Fortier; granddaughters, Maggie and Lucy O’Brien; siblings, MariLee Podkamensky, Lynda (William) Tanner, Scott (Vicki) Patterson, Robin (Kathy) Petersen; cousin, Jeff Keller; his significant other, Karen Vaughn; former wife, Susan Petersen; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends including his Pudgys’s family.

Funeral services will be held at Maresh-Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home, on Monday at 6 p.m. with Reverend Richard Craig officiating.  Relatives and friends may meet Monday at 4 p.m. until time of service.  Private entombment will be held at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.  Memorials may be directed to the family for his daughter Amberlyn or to Veteran’s Outreach of Wisconsin.
