This week on Wine-ing about the News, Racine County Eye owner Denise Lockwood and her co-host Larry Davis talked about Kringle… The Musical? and jobs. Why wouldn’t those two things go together?
In our first segment, which lasts about a half hour, we talked to Anne Mollerskov and Ron Schultz from Over Our Head Players. They are performing “Kringle… The Musical?” starting in November at the Sixth Street Theater. You know… because who doesn’t love Kringle in Racine? So why shouldn’t there be a musical about it.
Then our second segment turns to a more serious topic, jobs and job training. Ray Koukari Jr., interim Dean of Manufacturing for Gateway Technical College, and Jeff McKeown, who owns Personnel Resources Inc., highlighted what types of manufacturing jobs will be coming to the area as a result of Foxconn Technology Group building a 20 million square-foot building in Mount Pleasant. McKeown also said that he’s seeing companies have to pay higher wages to attract and retain people because of a shortage in skilled workers.
