Dear editor:

Who will be the best leader for Racine as Mayor?

I love Racine, and think it’s the very best value in Wisconsin.  We have the lake, entertainment, great pizza, coffee, and much more.  We visit the coffee shop multiple times per week on Washington ave, and see many politicians coming through the doors for the best coffee in Racine.  Mayor John Dickert used to be a frequent up until the moment he resigned also.  Cory Mason used to go a lot, but I have not seen him in a long time almost like he has resigned.  What he resigned from would be hard for me to tell you, but I feel almost cheated on their behalf.  Then my mind goes into defensive mode wondering what he’s doing?  Why do we not see him anymore?  I’m not a betting person, but I’d wager that he’s got a residence in Madison, and his new coffee shop is close by.  After Mayor Dickert’s resignation speech Cory Mason says that he’s planning on carrying the torch for Dickert’s Arena plans.  Later he posts that he’s going to wait for the very expensive propaganda study to say that the arena will be a positive investment.  Then he posts that he’s against it, and that’s more than a little wishy-washy.

Sandy Weidner has been the most consistent politician I’ve ever had the pleasure of witnessing.  She will not only be the first female mayor, but she’ll be the most respected mayor, and the least sold out to special interests ever.  Her demeanor, actions, and motives all point to her putting Racine first.  She very much cares about our Parks, Safety, Freedoms, and our livelihoods.  She cares about our immense debt levels, and how much of our budget is going toward debt service while I’ve never heard another candidate bring it up besides Melvin Hargrove.  I felt Melvin was going to endorse her as their love of Racine is as transparent as it can get.  I’d like to personally thank Melvin for endorsing the woman that will bring sanity back to a government that was sold out to the highest bidder.  Most of us work paycheck to paycheck, and we don’t want to leave the city that we love.  With Great government we can be protected, and the businesses will feel this protection, and start to flourish and multiply.  While I covet my coffee in West Racine it would be great to get a cup and a Morning Glory muffin while checking out the great shops downtown.  Uptown can also be revitalized with the protection and advocacy of a Weidner administration beyond anything Racine has ever witnessed.

We can elect a mayor who will carry the torch for the last mayor who loved downtown to our detriment and doubling our debt, or we can elect a woman full of courageous love and respect for ALL the people of Racine, and will help you get a foot in the door regardless of the area you live in.

Please vote to support ALL Racinians on October 17th by casting your ballot for Sandy “the main man” Weidner
