When you think of Racine claims to fame, Kringle inevitably comes to mind. The Danish pastry may be found all over the state—and according to some Wisconsin expats, all over the country—but Kringle is at its best here in Racine County. To celebrate our signature sweet, Sixth Street’s comedy troupe Over Our Head Players have put together a show dedicated to Kringle… and all other things Racine.
Written and directed by Rich Smith, the show “Kringle…..The Musical?” offers a surprising blend of musical comedy, storytelling, and riffs on local. The play is said to center on the Yopannson family, tracing their years of Kringle-making across generations.

“Kringle…..The Musical?” premieres at the Sixth Street Theatre on November 3, and is the second show in the Over Our Players 2017-2018 season.

The show will run Friday through Sunday until November 19. Already under the Players’ belt is the play “Escanaba,” which ran in September. And stay tuned because there’s still plenty to come in the season, including the group’s Snowdance Comedy Festival, which will premiere in January of 2018.over our head

As for what to expect with the November run of “Kringle,” audiences can look out for “half baked” songs, a family saga, and locally-sourced bakery antics. The show is rated “PG-13,” and though it’s Racine-inspired, offers plenty of gags for visitors as well.
