Julianne M. Jacobsen, 70, passed away on Saturday at her residence. She was born in Racine on December 13, 1946, and was the daughter of the late Gary and Eleanor (Nee: Young) Bluemink.
Julianne was a graduate of St. Catherine’s High School and Layton School of Art. Furthering her education at UW-Parkside she received a Bachelor Degree in Art Education. She was employed for a few years as an art teacher by Racine Unified School District. On June 24, 1978 at St. Edward Catholic Church she was united in marriage to Robert A. Jacobsen. Julianne was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. She had a passion for art, theater, painting, gardening, and fashion. Julianne will be fondly remembered for her exquisite flair decorating her home for the holidays. More than anything she cherished time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She will be dearly missed by her loving husband of thirty-nine years, Robert; her daughter, Anna (Mike) Bechtold; her grandchildren, Annika and Molly; her sister, Mary Ellen (Donald) Miller; sister-in-law, Donna Groot Blumink; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Dr. Gary Groot Blumink.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Maresh-Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home, with Reverend William Dietzler officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Thursday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m.
