Surrounded by her family, Gwenn Pfeiffer, 78, passed away on Sunday at St. Catherine’s Hospital in Kenosha following a short but courageous battle with cancer.

Gwenn was born in Danville, Virginia on April 2, 1939, and was the daughter of the late Lee and Louise (Nee: Estes) Parker.  Gwenn graduated from Washington Park High School “Class of 1957”.  On July 22, 1961, she was united in marriage to William S. Pfeiffer.  Bill’s employment had them living in various parts of the country but they returned to Racine in 1997.  Gwenn loved Mickey Mouse, antique dolls and lighthouses.  Her family is heartbroken and she will be dearly missed.

Surviving are her loving husband of 56 years, Bill; children, Susan Pfeiffer and family of Seattle, Washington, Bill (Sue Leonard) Pfeiffer of Columbus, Ohio; sister-in-law, Gloria Christensen; nieces Nancy and Beth; the extended Kebbekus family, other relatives and dear friends.

Funeral services will be held at Maresh-Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home  on Friday at 12 p.m. with Reverend George Kafer officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park.  Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Friday from 11 a.m. until time of service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society or the Racine Chapter of the Wisconsin Humane Society have been suggested.
