Donald J. McMahon, 55, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday at his residence. Donald was born in Racine on June 18, 1962, and was the son of the late Thomas and Agnes (nee: Willing) McMahon.
Don retired from Career Industries after thirty-two years of employment. He was a lifelong member of St. Rita Catholic Church. An avid Badgers fan, Don loved swimming and bowling and was awarded numerous medals while competing in the Special Olympics. He will be remembered fondly for his sense of humor, his many acts of kindness and his deep love for his family.
Don will be dearly missed by his brothers and sisters, Sr. Maryann McMahon O.P. of Racine, Thomas L. “Butch” McMahon of Racine, Charles J. (Linda) McMahon of Greenfield, Sharon A. (David) Geertsen of Kenosha, Michael L. (Lynn) McMahon of Racine, Karen A. McMahon DeMint of Sturtevant, Kevin J. McMahon of Racine; nieces and nephews, Christopher (Tamara) McMahon, Melissa McMahon, Kelly (Jessie) Salas-Staples, Michael McMahon, Joshua (Meghan) DeMint, Ethan McMahon; eight grandnieces and grandnephews; cousins, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a nephew, Jeremy DeMint.
Visitation will be held at St. Rita’s Catholic Church on Saturday at 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. A funeral Mass will follow at 12 p.m. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Memorials to St. Rita’s Catholic Church, Careers Industries or the Special Olympics have been suggested.
