Jane Margaret Bauer, 71, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday at her residence. She was born in Racine on April 29, 1946, and was the daughter of the late William and Ruby (Nee: Smith) Mathison.
Jane graduated from William Horlick High School “Class of 1964”. She was employed as a pharmacy technician for 29 years retiring from Wheaton Franciscan All Saints in 2013. Jane was a longtime member of Lutheran Church of the Resurrection. She enjoyed sewing, flower gardening, traveling, cruising anywhere warm, especially the Caribbean and Florida, cats and lately it was walking her dog Luca. Above all she treasured the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.
Surviving are her loving daughters, Cindy (Christopher) Kowalsky of Racine, Shelli (Brian) Washburn of Aubrey, TX; her beloved grandchildren, Colton and Grace Kowalsky, Jaden and Kalynn Washburn; a sister, Susann (Dean) Bertelsen of Raymond; cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
A memorial service will be held at Maresh-Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home on Sunday at 5 p.m. with Deacon Janice Navarro officiating. Relatives and friends may meet prior to the service from 4 p.m. until 5 p.m. Memorials to Lutheran Church of the Resurrection or the Wisconsin Humane Society have been suggested.
