Surrounded by his loving family, Vincent F. Miskinis, 91, passed away on Sunday at his residence.  He was born in Racine on January 22, 1927, and was the son of the late Casper and Domicele (Nee: Bakutis) Miskinis.

Vincent attended Washington Park High School.  He proudly served in the United States Army, Air Force and Marine Corps.  On Thanksgiving Day, November 25, 1954 at St. Catherine’s Church in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was united in marriage to Shirley M. Probst.  She preceded him in death on November 18, 2000.  He was employed as a Police Officer with the Racine Police Department for thirty-one years, retiring as Sergeant.  Vincent was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church.  He adored swimming at Racine’s North Beach and Quarry Lake Park, canoeing on Browns Lake, target shooting, and traveling.  More than anything he cherished time spent with his family.

He will be sadly missed by his children, Karen Miskinis of Racine, Greg (Maria) Miskinis of Waupaca, WI; his 2 granddaughters, Taylor and Kendal; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Richard (Joan) Probst of Cincinnati, OH; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.  In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by his sisters, Stella Miskinis, Laura Miskinis and Casimira (Harold) Grzyb.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Rita’s Catholic Church on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. with Father Rich O’Leary O.S.A. officiating.  Interment with Full Military Honors will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park.  Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass at 10:30 a.m. Memorials to the Racine Police K-9 Unit or the Humane Society of Waupaca County have been suggested.
