Surrounded by her family, Barbara Ann Malanche, 64, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at her home. She was born in Racine on May 31, 1953, and was the daughter of the late Robert and Milena (Nee: Podgornik) Malanche.
Barbara graduated from St. Catherine’s High School “Class of 1971” and went on to earn degrees from Marquette University and U.W. Parkside. Barbara was employed by the State of Wisconsin for 32 years retiring this past December from the Department of Workforce Development as an Advanced Auditor. She enjoyed traveling, especially her casino trips, but it was time spent with her family that she treasured most. She was a loving sister and a proud aunt who will be dearly missed.
Surviving are her sisters, Mary Malanche of Chicago and Tina Miller of Racine; sister-in-law, Bernadette Malanche of Jackson; her beloved nieces and nephews, Gena Malanche, Joseph (Cathy) Malanche, Julie (Sean) Solveson, Jessica Malanche, Thomas D. Miller, Mitchell Miller, and Ryan Miller; great nieces and nephews; other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert; niece, Angela and brother-in-law, Thomas Miller;
Private funeral services will be held. Memorials to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Best Friends Animal Society have been suggested.
