Virginia “Ginny” Viola Webster, 88, died Sunday, Feb. 11 at her residence. Born Sept. 7, 1929 in Racine, Ginny was the daughter of the late Herman and Soffie (Nee: Christofferson) Johnsen.
She married Alvin Webster on November 8, 1958. Alvin preceded her in death on Oct. 26, 2006. Ginny retired from Western Publishing Company after 44 years of service.
She and Al loved to travel by car throughout the US. Locally they loved to square dance. She was a longtime member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church. Family was important to Ginny, and she took numerous pictures at all family events. She will be dearly missed.
Surviving are her sister Beulah June, of Cambria, CA, sister-in-law Virginia Johnson, Racine, WI, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Ginny was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters: Harold Johnsen, Clarence Johnsen, Rose Johnsen, Mable (Loyal) Phetteplace, Myrtle Cogswell, Robert Johnsen, Genevra (Louis) Planert, Howard (Bev) Johnson, Cornel Johnson, Opal Butterfield, Jerome Johnsen, LeRoy (Marie) Johnsen, Marcella (Arvid) Nelson and Deloris (James) Ahmad.
Visitation will be held at from 4 p.m. Friday at the Maresh-Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home, 803 Main St., until the time of service. With Rev. Denise Mbise officiating, funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Private interment will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to caregivers Debbie, Kathy, Lynn, and Tim for their loving and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to Living Faith Lutheran Church Food Bank.
