Surrounded by his loving family, Donald James Audenby, 87, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his favorite recliner Tuesday. He was born in Racine, November 21, 1930, son of the late Chester and Ida (Nee: Chapman) Audenby.
Don graduated from St. Catherine’s High School in 1948 and went on to proudly serve in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 until 1955. He married Pearl R. Thomas at St. Rose Catholic Church on June 8, 1957. Don owned and operated Electron Services (T.V. repair) for 20 years, worked for Kovach Automotive managing the parts department as well as working in the service department and retired as a real estate agent. He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church and was devoted to his religion and faith. Above all, he treasured time spent with his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Pearl; children, Terrie (Chuck) Walton, Mark (Maryjo) Audenby, Scott (Tracey) Audenby; 6 grandchildren, Rachel (Todd) Hauge, Christopher Walton, Becky (Alan) Roberts, Maryellen Audenby, Mitchell Audenby, and Josh Audenby; 7 great-grandchildren, Brody, Cooper, Caleb, Isla, Wesley, Michael, and Levi; a sister, Carol Curzon; sisters-in-law, Audrey Collins, Joyce Ruetz, and Wendy Thomas; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
A mass of Christian burial followed by full military honors will be celebrated at noon Monday at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6400 Spring Street with Rev. William Dietzler officiating. Relatives and friends may meet Monday at the church 11:00 A.M. until time of Mass. Private interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Vincent dePaul Society, or one’s favorite charity have been suggested.
