Robert Lee Owen, born on December 14, 1959 in San Jose, California passed away on Monday, February 12, 2018 while riding his bike. He was the youngest son of the late Charles Dewey Owen and Pearl Mae (Seehafer) Owen.

Bobby was the youngest of six children, and always held a special place in the hearts of his siblings. Never one to argue or fight, Bobby was known to be a friend to the animals, helping a wild deer by removing a thorn from its hoof, caring for his many dogs over the years, bird watching, and being kind to all the animals of the forest.

Bobby went to Edwin A. Oster Elementary School, Union Jr. High School, and Leigh High School in San Jose, California. He spent time with family and friends at the beaches of Rio Del Mar, Santa Cruz, and Capitola, California, camping at Pinecrest Lake, California, and enjoyed fishing with his brother Walt.

“Uncle Bob’s” greatest memories involved the great outdoors. He spent many weekends with his sister Margie and family at the beaches of California, on Strawberry Creek, and the family favorite for years, Pinecrest. He loved camping and spent a summer vacation with his sister Charlene camping at Big Basin State Park. He also spent time with his sister Mary and family vacationing near Lake Tahoe.

Bobby spent time in his early teens traveling with his sister Trudy, and grandparents Mary and Walter cross country from San Jose, California to Racine, Wisconsin. He shared many memories of time spent with his cousins and met relatives throughout the State. He also traveled to Baltimore Maryland with his sister Trudy to visit Washington D.C and his Father, Charles.

Bobby spent the past few years at home with his mother and was a helpful, quiet, and dutiful son.

He will be deeply missed by his mother, Pearl Owen, and Sister Mary (John) Ho of San Jose, California; Sister Charlene Owen of Pinehurst, Idaho; Brother Walter (Laura) Owen of Wheaton, Illinois; Sister Margaret Owen of Galena, Illinois; Sister Trudy (Owen) Coombs of Racine, Wisconsin; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his Father, Charles Owen, his nephew Brian Harrell, and his grandparents, Mary and Walter Seehafer, and Effie Schumacher.

In memory of Robert Lee Owen, please take time to enjoy the outdoors, the wild animals, and the beauty of the world. Live a life of peace and help those in need. Always be kind.
