A 15-year-old boy is in stable condition at Children’s Hospital after being struck by a car Friday night on Highway 31 near Castle Court.
Mount Pleasant police Sergeant Jason Vaccaro said in a press release that officers and rescue from South Shore Fire Department were called at 9:20 p.m. Friday to the intersection of Highway 31 and Castle Court for a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian.
When they arrived, they found the boy with serious injuries and transported him to Wheaton Ascension Hospital where he was then taken by Flight for Life to Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee. Vaccaro lists the boy’s condition as stable in the release.
Police are looking for the driver of a smaller car as described by witnesses. Additional details were unavailable because of low lighting conditions in the area.
