Mount Pleasant police are looking for the man who forcibly stole the purse of an 87-year-old woman in the parking lot of Pick ‘n Save Saturday afternoon.
MPPD Sergeant Matthew Kwapil Saturday night relayed the sequence of events in a press release:
An 87-year-old woman was getting back into her car after grocery shopping at Pick ‘n Save, 2820 S. Green Bay Road, when a black male approached her and grabbed her purse. Once he had the purse, the man ran away and got into an SUV, possibly a red, GMC Acadia, and driving north out of the parking lot.
The woman suffered minor injuries in her wrist after trying to prevent the theft, and did try to chase the suspect.
Witnesses described the suspect as a black male wearing dark clothing.
