A Kenosha man is facing felony child abuse charges after Racine police say he punched a teenage girl in the face.
Bryan Overstreet, 24, was charged Monday by the Racine County District Attorney’s office with one felony count of child abuse. If convicted, he faces up to six years in prison and/or up to $10,000 in fines.
According to the criminal complaint, during an altercation last October a teenage girl was attempting to break up, Overstreet punched the girl in the face. The girl’s mother said the force of the blow caused her daughter’s nose to bleed periodically but that no bones were broken, and doctors said the wounds would eventually heal.
Overstreet was assigned a $2,500 signature bond during his initial appearance and will next be in court March 7 for his preliminary hearing.
