Douglas Lock died suddenly on Feb 26, 2018 at Viera Hospital in Melbourne Florida. He was on born on Feb 6, 1953 to Ronald and Betty (Spidle) Lock in Racine Wisconsin.

He graduated from Horlick High School Class of ‘71.  Doug worked as a machinist for 25 years at Jacobsen Textron until their closing and then as a CNC machinist lead man at Tecomet until his retirement in Dec 2016. He retired to his lake house on Partridge Lake in Mauston Wisconsin. Doug loved taking care of his over 3 acres of land, gardening, planting fruit trees and just sitting on the pier fishing. He purchased his in-laws park model trailer at Spacecoast RV Park where he had planned to spend his winter months.

His love for cooking provided many fish fries, famous corn roasts, the “best” pizza, and ribs. With Doug around you didn’t have to go out to eat. Whatever you wanted to eat, he could make much better than any restaurant. He was a die hard Packer fan since he was old enough to watch football and never missed a game, no matter what was happening (even his daughters’ weddings).  He also loved the Badgers and Brewers but watched pretty much all sports. He enjoyed many vacations on the beaches of Jamaica, Punta Cana and the Riviera Maya. He also enjoyed cruises and was on the inaugural Packer cruise back in 1996.

On August 11, 1973 at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Racine, he married the “love of his life since junior high school,” Vicki Lee.

Left to miss him is his wife of 44 years, Vicki; daughters, Tara Lock and Laura (David) Burger. His grandchildren who meant the world to him, Kyle, Kevin and Kaylee Launderville, Braden, Emilee and Grant Burger. Sadly he retired so he could be more active in their lives, but he will always be there in spirit cheering them on. He is further survived by his father, Ron; sister, Vicky Bushman; brother, Ronald “Scott” Lock, sisters and brothers-in-law, Sandi (Richard) Luedtke, Jackie (Bob) Miles, Barbara (Ron Emde) Stoffel-Emde,  Lori Lee, Jim Launderville (former son-in-law); many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty; brother, Randy; in-laws, Clifford and Lois Lee, brother-in-law, Curtis Stoffel; nephew, Aaron Sczepanski.

We will not be angry for the years we will miss having him in our lives, but be so grateful for the many many years he was such a big part of us. Our family will never be the same, but we are wonderful together because of him.

Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Saturday, March 10, 2018, from 3 p.m. until a time of remembering at 5 p.m. at the funeral home.  Please wear Packer attire in honor of Doug.
