SC Johnson announced Wednesday it will eliminate between 300 and 400 jobs in what it is calling a re-organization.
WTMJ 4 News is reporting that SCJ made the announcement to employees back in January. Some of those positions are open and won’t be filled while other jobs will be eliminated, resulting in job losses.
“The company is healthy and our brands continue to be leaders in their categories,” Kelly M. Semrau, Senior Vice President – Global Corporate Affairs, Communication & Sustainability, is quoted as saying. “Other leading consumer packaged goods companies are doing the same as we all continue to respond to trends in the marketplace. Like them, we are doing this to maintain the company’s health and leadership.”
SCJ will provide severance packages and outplacement services. There is no word on how many Wisconsin employees will be effected.
SC Johnson employees over 13,000 people around the world.
