A man is accused of driving drunk after a law enforcement officer found him in his car in a ditch facing the wrong way on an on-ramp off of Interstate 94.
Christopher Schick, 35, of Hubertus, was charged by the Racine County District Attorney’s Office with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (4th offense). If convicted of the charge, Schick faces up to six years in prison and/or fines up to $10,000.
According to the criminal complaint, a Wisconsin State Trooper found a car facing the wrong way in the right should of the on-ramp to Highway KR at 3:27 a.m. on Saturday.
The trooper also found Schick inside the car and asked him what he was doing.
“You tell me,” he said.

The trooper noted that Schick smelled of alcohol. His pants and underwear were “pulled partly down,” which exposed half of his backside. Schick, who was on the phone, told the person that he was “going to jail after trying to drive home,” according to the complaint.
Schick told the officer the GPS directed him to a certain route and then he saw headlights coming at him. He was driving the wrong way down Interstate 94 from Highway 11 and swerved into a ditch.
After failing field sobriety tests, the officer administered a breathalyzer test, which showed that Schick’s blood-alcohol level was .152, which is almost twice the legal limit of .08.
Schick also told the officer that he had used heroin the day before. He is being held on a $2,000 cash bond.
