Three Chicago men were charged with possessing drugs after officers with the Caledonia Police Department found ecstasy, marijuana and thousands of dollars in their car after a traffic stop.

Howard Hoover, 22, Davonte Dailey, 20, and Kevion Minor, 19 were charged by the Racine County District Attorney’s Office on Thursday with the following charges:

Hoover: Possession with intent to deliver marijuana on or near a jail and possession of drug paraphernalia. If convicted, he faces up to 34 years six months in prison and/or fined up to $110,000.
Dailey: Possession with intent to deliver MDMA (second offense), also known as ecstasy, and possession of marijuana (second offense). If convicted, he faces up to 34 years six months in prison and/or fined up to $110,000.
Minor: Possession with intent to deliver other schedule 1 controlled substances (second offense) and maintaining a drug trafficking place (second offense). If convicted, he faces up to 34 years six months in prison and/or fined up to $110,000.

According to the criminal complaint, an officer with the Caledonia Police Department stopped Minor for a traffic stop because he had a warrant out of Kenosha Joint Services for not submitting to a biological specimen. As the officer searched Minor, 33 “oddly shaped black pills,” three “different colored pills” and $340 were found in Minor’s pocket. The pills tested positive for the presence of ecstasy.

The officer also found small gem packs, a digital scale, $1,194 in cash and an iPhone in the car.

On the rear passenger side floor, which is where Dailey had been sitting, officers found a plastic bag that had a black powder-like residue. That also tested positive for the presence of ecstasy. Next to that bag was a baggie of marijuana remnants.

Inside the trunk, officers found about 100 gem packs that were black with a yellow skull design on them. The officer noted that it is common for hallucinogenic drugs to be packaged in these types of bags. Hoover also had a large number of gem packs in his pocket, a digital scale, $1,194 in cash and an iPhone. They also found that Hoover’s wallet contained six Paypal Business debit cards for six other people that were not with him, another person’s Social Security card and their Sam’s club business membership.

Jail staff also found 12 grams of marijuana in Hoover’s jacket sleeve, and a bag of marijuana weighing 37.5 grams of marijuana, and 7 small gem bags of marijuana weighing .7 to .9 grams each in his shoe.

Dailey had two iPhone, $487 in cash and 21.2 grams of marijuana.

“After Dailey was placed in a holding cell at the jail, Dailey was seen eating pills he had stashed near his anus,” the complaint reads. “He was taken to the hospital to be checked by medical staff. None of the pills were recovered.”

All three men are being held on a $5,000 cash bond. Racine County Court Commissioner Alice Rudebusch set a preliminary hearing for them at 9 a.m. April 4.
