Thomas Peter Wiesner, 65, passed away on Tuesday at Rockford Memorial Hospital. Thomas was born in Racine on July 21, 1952, and was the son of the late Paul and Lorraine (Nee:Kothe) Wiesner.
Tom graduated from St. Catherine’s High School, “Class of 1970” and went on to proudly serve in the U.S. Army from 1971-1973. Tom was employed by American Motors Corp and retired from Chrysler Corp in 2000. Tom enjoyed woodworking, fishing, gardening, bowling, the Green Bay Packers, trips to Las Vegas and caring for his beloved cat, Goldie. He will be dearly missed.
Surviving are his sons, Richard (Kara) Wiesner, Andrew Wiesner (Ashleigh Sandbach), Scott (Anna) Wiesner; former wife and mother of his children, Linda Wiesner; grandchildren, Anthony, Helena, Carter, and baby Paul on the way; his siblings, David (Annette) Wiesner, Robert (Deborah) Wiesner, Jane (Robert) Fuls, Joyce (Michael) Obernberger, Joseph (Margaret) Wiesner; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
The family would like to give special thanks to Tom’s best friend, Richard “Smiley” Sandberg, for his help when Tom needed it most these past few months.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment with full military honors will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet prior to the service 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Memorials to Racine Area Veterans Inc. have been suggested.
