Marguerite E Scholzen, 90, passed away on Saturday at The Addison of Pleasant Prairie Memory Care. Marguerite was born in Racine on December 24, 1927, and was the daughter of the late Adam and Anna (Bins) Durben.

Marguerite graduated from St. Catherine’s High School “Class of 1945”. She was united in marriage to Gerald J. Scholzen on June 26, 1948 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.  Marguerite enjoyed reading, bowling, traveling, watching the Packer and Brewer games, playing games with the grandkids, and spending time with her family.

She will be deeply missed by her 5 children, Linda (Ron) Solberg, Jerry (Sandy) Scholzen, Betty (Tom) Klamm, Craig (Kerri) Scholzen, Dianne (Ron) Chase; 7 Grandchildren, Jason (Christine) Beyer, Andrew (Katie) Chase, Kristin (Karl) Peura, Steven (Liz) Scholzen, Samantha Scholzen, Jennifer Klamm, Zachary Scholzen; 9 great-grandchildren, Austin and Madelyn “Maddy” Beyer, Summer and Carter Gray, Bianca and Tegan Peura, Braden and Brielle Chase, Magnolia Scholzen; brother George (Vicki) Durben, sisters-in-law Alice Durben and Lucille Scholzen, brother-in-law Francis “ Smokey” (Helen) Scholzen, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and many friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years Gerald J. Scholzen,  brothers James and Robert Durben, sisters Helen Durben and Marie Ager, sisters-in-law Marilyn Meister and Elizabeth “Betty” Scholzen, brother-in-law, Richard Scholzen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Lucy Catholic Church, on Monday at 11 a.m.  Interment will follow at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Town of Dover.  Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Sunday at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10:30 a.m. until time of Mass at 11 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to Veterans Outreach of Wisconsin or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital have been suggested.
