James H. Lamers, 82, passed away Thursday at Ascension All Saints Medical Center.  James was born in Racine on November 26, 1935, the son of the late John and Annette (nee: Haas) Lamers.

Jim graduated from St. Catherine’s High School “Class of 1953”. He proudly served in the U.S. Army.  On September 9, 1961, Jim was united in marriage to the love of his life, Judy Meinert at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.  He was employed with SC Johnson Wax for forty-one years until his retirement in 1998. Jim was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church and the Johnson Wax 20 Year Club. Always a good athlete and sports enthusiast, Jim enjoyed playing baseball in his younger years, and coaching his sons’ different sports teams.  He loved his time up at his cabin and spending time with his family.

Jim will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 56 years, Judy; son, Scot Lamers of Marietta, GA; siblings, Joseph (Barb) Lamers of Fort Myers, FL, Kathryne (Donald) Skorke of Pickens, SC, Michael (Cathy) Lamers of Racine; sisters-in-law, Darlene Meinert of Racine, Jacquie Picard of Cedarburg; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  In addition to his parents, Jim was also preceded in death by his son, Rodney; sister, Shirley (James) Runkel; brothers, John (Lorna) Lamers and Larry Lamers.

A memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 6 p.m. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 p.m. until time of service at 6 p.m.  Memorials to St. Catherine’s High School have been suggested.
