A traffic stop in the Village of Waterford in March led to a high-speed chase and two felony charges against a 27-year-old
Robert Jackson is charged with felony counts of attempting to flee or elude a traffic officer and first-degree recklessly endangering safety, both as a repeat offender. The two charges carry a total fine of $35,000 and 16 years in prison.
Court records show the defendant has previous felony convictions for possession of marijuana and operating a firearm with a controlled substance in Milwaukee and Sheboygan counties.
According to the criminal complaint:
After an officer stopped the defendant’s vehicle, he learned there were multiple warrants out for his arrest. After he was ordered to turn off the vehicle and step out, Jackson allegedly fled southbound on Highway 36. The pursuit reached speeds of more than 100 mph before it was terminated as the officer passed West Loomis Road in the town of Waterford.
Jackson will be back in Racine County Circuit Court on May 17 for an 8:30 a.m. preliminary hearing.
