No one was injured during a house fire that happened at 10:44 p.m. Thursday at 1922 16th St.
The home, however, sustained about $100,000 in damage. It was unoccupied at the time of the fire, according to a press release by the Racine Fire Department.
After seeing the blaze, numerous people called 911. Crews responded to the fire 90 seconds after receiving the call. When they arrived, they found a working fire that had “penetrated through the roof of a two-story building.”
Firefighters knocked down the fire within about 50 minutes. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation, but it started near the rear deck.
