Memorial Day weekend is ahead and this is a great time to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

According to Real Racine, area observances include:

  • Sturtevant Memorial Day parade (10 a.m. Saturday from Schulte Elementary School, 8515 Westminster Drive)
  • Southern Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery program (11 a.m. Sunday, 21731 Spring St., Union Grove)
  • Veterans Memorial Day Parade (9 a.m. Monday from Kane and Edward streets, Burlington)
  • Racine Memorial Day Parade (10 a.m. Monday from West Boulevard and Washington Avenue)
  • West Lawn Memorial Day Observance (10 a.m. Monday, Garden of Valor, 9000 Washington Ave., Mount Pleasant)
  • Rochester Memorial Day Parade (1:30 p.m. from Rochester Fire Station to Pioneer Park).
