David L. Jacobs, 80, passed away on Memorial Day at his residence. David was born in Racine on April 22, 1938, the son of the late Ernest and Katherine (nee: Schuppe) Jacobs.
Following graduation from William Horlick High School “Class of 1956”, Dave proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1957-1960, and was stationed in Turkey. On May 23, 1985, Dave was united in marriage to Dianne L. Julius. They shared twenty five beautiful years together before Dianne passed away on May 26, 2010. Dave was employed with Twin Disc for thirty-five years before retiring in 2000. He was a lifelong member of Franksville United Methodist Church (now Faithbridge). Dave helped establish the Racine county central office for AA. He will be remembered fondly for his great love for his family.
Dave will be missed by his brother, Fred (Janet) Jacobs; sisters-in-law, Virginia and Mary Jacobs; stepdaughter, Jodie Eckman (Ted Farvour); grandchildren, Michael McLellan, David McLellan; great granddaughters, Emaleigh and Annika McLellan; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Dave was also preceded in death by his brothers, Ronald and Ernest Jacobs and sister, Ellen (James) Gill.
Memorial services will be held at Faithbridge United Methodist Church on Wednesday June 13, 2018, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Caledonia Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Memorials to Faithbridge United Methodist Church have been suggested.
