A 42-year-old Racine man is being held in the Racine County Jail on a $150,000 cash bond after he was charged Thursday with five felony counts of possession of child pornography.
Each of those counts filed against Timothy J. Johnson carries a fine of $100,000 and 25 years in prison. Johnson also faces a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, which carries a fine of $500 and 30 days in the county jail.
According to the criminal complaint:
Racine Police on Tuesday executed a search warrant at Johnson’s residence, 4024 N. Main St., Apt. B3, after he was suspected of downloading child pornography.
During the search, police found several items used for ingesting controlled substances, including a bong, a glass pipe with controlled substance residue and a clear glass pipe.
A portable hard drive that was connected to a television in Johnson’s bedroom also was confiscated. Police found more than 3,000 pornographic files, including more than 1,000 that contained child pornography.
The defendant is due back in court June 20 for a 9 a.m. preliminary hearing.
