Mary F. Kortendick, 76, passed away Monday morning at Ascension All Saints Medical Center.  She was born in Racine on September 16, 1941, the daughter of the late Edward and Martina (Nee: Pfeiffer) Strelka.

On May 14, 1966 at Holy Name Catholic Church she was united in marriage to Robert J. Kortendick who preceded her in death on May 29, 2004.  She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, was active with the Racine and Kenosha Parkinson’s support groups, and volunteered with the Harmony Club.  Mary’s pastimes included playing cards, going to the casino, and traveling, especially to Italy.  More than anything she loved spending time with her daughters.

Survivors include her daughters, Julie Kortendick and Sharon Kortendick, both of Racine; brother, Thomas (Diane) Strelka of Strongsville, OH; sister, Carol Jarosz of Oshkosh, WI; brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-law, Barbara Kortendick of Sturtevant, Kenneth (Dorothy) Kortendick of Racine, Thomas (Heleen) Kortendick of St. Germaine, WI, David (Yvonne) Kortendick of Menasha, WI, Barbara Piechocki of London, AR; many nieces, nephews, other relatives; longtime friend, Joan Chapman and other dear friends.  In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her brothers-in-law, Leonard Jarosz and Charles Piechocki.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1100 Erie Street on Thursday at 6 p.m.   Private interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32.  Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Thursday from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m.  Memorials to the Parkinson’s Association have been suggested.
