Surrounded by her loving family, Ruth D. Bruno, 87, passed away on Friday, June 15, 2018 at Hospice Alliance House. She was born in Fort Francis, Ontario, Canada on October 6, 1930, the daughter of the late Joseph F. and Irene L. (Nee: Mondeau) Bedard.
Ruth was a graduate of St. Catherine’s High School. On July 31, 1954 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church she was united in marriage to James F. Bruno who preceded her in death on September 8, 2013. She and her husband owned and operated the Office Supply Company in Racine and Brosk Office Supply in Kenosha. She was a member of St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church. Ruth was an avid tennis player, golfer, traveler, and Packer fan. Above all she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be terribly missed.
Survivors include her children, Hugh (Pam) Bruno and their son, Justin Bruno; Thomas Bruno; Robert Bruno and his children, Nicholas Bruno, Natalie (Khrist) Hansen; Lane (Stephanie) Bruno; Richard (MaryAnn) Bruno and their children, Christopher (Kayly) Bruno, Jana Bruno, Cory Bruno and Paige Bruno; Annamarie Zagar and her children, T.J. Zagar, Kerstin Zagar (Eric Morehead) and Austin Zagar; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Vivian Zember, LaVerne Hoglund; sister-in-law, Donna Bedard; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two sons, Jude and William “Billy”; daughter-in-law, Darlene Bruno; son-in-law, Anthony Zagar; brothers, Arthur Bedard, Alfred Bedard; and sister, Carolyn (Marty) James.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 26, 2018, at 11 a.m. at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church with Reverend Steve Varghese officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Tuesday at the church from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Private interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, Kinzie Ave. Memorials to Hospice Alliance have been suggested.
