Press release

The Parade of Planes returns to Racine’s lakefront on July 4. The Parade of Planes will feature aircraft from the Racine EAA, Chapter 838 and the Civil Air Patrol. The show begins at 6 p.m. and will conclude with two F-16 Fighting Falcon Jets screaming over the lakefront, between the Racine Zoo and North Beach.

The F-16 jets are from the 115th Fighter Wing located in Madison, WI. The F-16 Falcon is capable of air-to-air, close air support and precision-guided bombing missions Currently the 115th Fighter Wing has personnel and/or aircraft assigned to “Operation Noble Eagle,” “Operation Jump Start,” and regularly serves with the Air Expeditionary Force in Iraq and Afghanistan.

“We are looking forward to seeing an array of planes fly over,” commented David Maack, 4th Fest President, “and extremely excited about the F-16’s which are scheduled to make an appearance. It’s a great way to kick-off an evening capped with Racine’s wonderful fireworks display.”

Racine puts on a spectacular 40-minute fireworks exhibition which begins at dusk on July 4 (approximately 9:20 p.m.) The annual fireworks show can be seen from anywhere up and down the Lake Michigan shoreline (and beyond).

The “Parade of Planes” is sponsored by 4th Fest of Greater Racine, in conjunction with the Racine EAA, Chapter 838.
