A 19-year-old Mount Pleasant man was charged Monday in Racine County Circuit Court with a felony charge of robbery with the use of force.
Isaiah J. McGlorn made his initial appearance Monday. The felony carries a fine of $50,000 and 15 years in prison if he’s convicted. He also faces a felony charge of possession of marijuana in a separate case.
According to the criminal complaint:
A man told officers with the Racine Police Department that he had moved a shotgun, which was in a case, from his car to the basement of his residence June 23. Because of the shape and the case, he told police that it would be very evident to onlookers that it was a long gun.
Later in the evening, the man said he heard two people talking about the gun from outside his window. He went to the basement and heard two unknown males enter the open door. When the victim emerged with the gun, one of the men allegedly took it.
As both men held the gun, the victim was shoved back and struck in the abdomen. The suspect was able to get the gun from the victim, and both men took off westbound through yards.
The victim stated that he and his brother were able to locate the suspects, but they observed the men reach at their waistband as if they were going to produce a weapon. So they decided to leave. McGlorn was identified by the victim in a police lineup as the person who was holding the door open during the robbery.
McGlorn will be back in court for an initial appearance July 25 at 8:30 a.m.
