Tim Wheary wore his heart on his sleeve, loved people and always had a story to tell or comment to offer. Sadly, in the early morning hours of Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at his residence, Tim’s heart failed. He was 70.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 15, 2018, 10 a.m. at Preservation Hall Racine, 740 Lake Avenue.

Timothy Michael Wheary was the last of four sons born to George H. and Jessie Mae Wilson Wheary, Jr. He was a Valentine gift to his parents, arriving on February 14, 1948. Except for a few years in Florida, Tim spent most of his life in and around Racine. He was a graduate of St. Catherine’s High School and attended The Milwaukee Institute of Technology, Dominican College and Gateway Technical Institute.

From his earliest days and throughout his life Tim displayed a determined nature and an ability to relate warmly to people. He was especially proud of the years he was involved with the Racine Jaycees, having served as a Past President, State District Director, Regional Director, and Junior Chamber International Senator. He was also involved in various other community service organizations during his life. Tim enlisted in the U.S Army Reserve and was also very proud of the time he served.

Tim had the gift of gab and spent most of his working years in retail sales and sales representation. He was employed over the years in retail clothing sales, retail gift sales, promotional pin manufacturing and sales, commercial signage, furniture sales, and various other sales related ventures.

Tim’s parents passed on ahead of him as did his oldest brother, George.

He is survived by two older brothers, James T. W. (Victoria) Wheary and Fredric W. Wheary. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, and many close and dear friends whom he knew and kept in his heart.

In accordance with his wishes his remains have been cremated and a Memorial Service will be planned for a time in early Fall.
