For Racine County folks who are not afraid to drive south of Highway KR, a slight dip into Kenosha County this weekend will find one of the newer events that take place at one of its county parks.

The Petrifying Springs Biergarten, produced in partnership with Kenosha County Parks, will celebrate Oktoberfest throughout the upcoming weekend, Sept. 21-23.
The second annual Oktoberfest at the Biergarten will include live music, authentic German food and beer, Bavarian games and family activities. Admission is free; food and beverages will be available for purchase.

County Executive Jim Kreuser is scheduled to tap the ceremonial Oktoberfest keg at noon Saturday.

“This will be another great weekend to ring in fall and celebrate our county’s German heritage,” Kreuser said. “And what better place to do this than the authentic Biergarten in beautiful Petrifying Springs Park?”

Established in 2017, the Petrifying Springs Biergarten is a private entity that operates under a lease agreement with Kenosha County Parks. It is located in Shelter No. 1, near the southern entrance to Petrifying Springs Park, 5555 Seventh St.
Michael Grab, co-owner of the Biergarten, said he is pleased to return with another Oktoberfest celebration.
