The amount of opioids being prescribed by doctors in Wisconsin declined from 2010 to 2015, but Racine County numbers remain high and there is still work to be done on the issue, say state officials.

According to the Center for Disease Control, the morphine milligram equivalents per person was 640 per 100 people in the U.S. in 2015. But in Racine County, the morphine milligram equivalents per person ranged from 677 to 958 in 2015.
