Get ready for a fun, outdoor party! This Racine County weekend also includes music, local history and a chance to meet rhinos. Real Racine has you covered.

It’s a party! The area’s biggest one-day street festival — Party on the Pavement — is 12 to 7 p.m. this Saturday in Downtown Racine. This 16th annual edition features things to see and do along more than 12 city blocks. There’s live music on three stages (Twin Disc stage in the 200 block of Main, Johnson Bank stage on Monument Square and the Porcaro Indian Motorcycle stage at 522 Sixth St.), international cuisine, car show, arts/crafts show, Touch a Truck equipment displays, BMX bike demonstrations, carnival rides and more. Be sure to drop by the Real Racine booth (#118) on the west end of Sixth Street for FREE face painting, kids’ games with prizes and our new Selfie Station! Rhinos and more. Saturday is a Zooriffic Saturday at the Racine Zoo, 2131 N. Main St. From 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., the zoo is celebrating World Rhino Day. You’ll have a opportunity to meet the zoo’s Eastern black rhinoceros, Kianga and Timu, and learn about this endangered species. There are activity stations, snacks and food specials at the grill. It’s all included with regular Zoo admission: $8 for adults, $7 for seniors (age 62+) and $6 for children (age 15 and younger). For details, visit www.racinezoo.org

Experience history. The Caledonia Historical Society invites everyone to an open house at the Historical Village and Heritage Garden, 7300 Five Mile Road. The village’s buildings will be open for tours, including the 1877 village hall, the 1840s log cabin, the 1919 Botting machine shed/barn and the Milwaukee Road depot. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. Free admission; donations are welcomed.

Music and words. The Belle Ensemble performs “Two Roads Converged” at 7 p.m. Friday at the Racine Public Library, 72 Seventh St. This is a combination of classic American poetry with the music of American composers. Free admission. The program is presented by the Friends of the Racine Public Library.

Anyone for flapjacks? Late September means it’s time for the Tucker 4-H Club’s annual pancake breakfast at Swan’s Pumpkin Farm, 5930 Hwy. H, Caledonia. They’ll be serving up your choice of buttermilk or pumpkin pancakes from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday. The meal includes sausage, applesauce, dessert bars, cider, coffee and milk. Admission is $7 for adults and $5 for children. Children age 5 and younger eat free.
