Gateway Technical College will hold an official groundbreaking for the expansion of its SC Johnson integrated Manufacturing and Engineering Technology Center on Monday.

The expansion will help meet the educational training needs of Wisconn Valley employers, including Foxconn Technology Group.

The 35,000-square-foot expansion will support the growth and needs of Wisconn Valley employers through advanced training in Industry 4.0 careers.

Alan Yeung, director of U.S. strategic initiatives for Foxconn Technology Group, recently announced the purchase of One Main Place Building Tuesday afternoon in downtown Racine.

Scheduled to speak at the event are Alan Yeung, Director U.S. Strategic Initiatives at Foxconn and Bryan Albrecht, Gateway Technical College president. Gov. Scott Walker has been invited to speak.

The ceremony and actual groundbreaking will get underway at 2 p.m. The program will be held inside the SC Johnson iMET Center.

Gateway’s SC Johnson iMET Center is located at 2320 Renaissance Blvd. in Sturtevant.
