The Board Appointment Committee for the Gateway Technical College District Board of Trustees has begun to accept applications for an appointment to a short-term seat on the board.

Deadline to apply is noon, Nov. 23. The short-term board commitment, which begins Feb. 21 and ends June 30, 2019 is an open seat for a Racine County employee.

In general, this is someone employed in Racine County, but does not meet the classification of an employer member. The applicant must also live within the Gateway Technical College District.

An officer or agent of a labor organization also qualifies as an employee. The position must be filled by a female in order to meet Gateway’s Plan of Representation requirements which state a board of trustees shall consist of at least three female members.

Applications must be notarized, include two letters of reference, and applicants must be present at the 5 p.m., Dec. 14, meeting of the appointment committee at the Burlington Center, 496 McCanna Parkway. Chairpersons of the Kenosha County, Walworth County and Racine County boards of supervisors make up the interview committee.
