A 30-year-old inmate at the Racine County Jail faces two additional felony charges for a pair of incidents with correctional officers last week.
Raymond Bergeron-Davila Jr., Racine, is charged in one criminal complaint filed Monday in Racine County Circuit Court with a felony count of throwing/discharging bodily fluids at a public safety worker and with a felony count of assault by a prisoner in a second complaint.
Each felony carries a fine of $10,000 and three years, six months in prison.
According to the first criminal complaint: A correctional officer working at the jail reported Nov. 4 that he had been spit on by the defendant. The officer stated that Bergeron-Davila had been placed in an emergency restraint chair, which he had escaped from.
Before he was removed from his cell, a “spit” mask was put on the defendant, which he chewed a hole through and spit on the officer. The officer also reported that Bergeron-Davila was agitated, swearing at and threatening him.
According to the second complaint: A correctional officer stated she was spit on by the defendant during a meeting that was being held at Bergeron-Davila’s request. The officer stated she was about a foot to the right of the defendant’s open food slot, when he became upset with her and spit at her.
The officer stated most of the spit hit her clipboard, but some hit her on the right side of her forehead and her glasses.
As the officer left the area, the defendant was heard yelling several threats toward her.
Bergeron-Davila is due back in court Dec. 10 for a 2:30 p.m. competency hearing.
