According to a report from Wallet Hub, Wisconsin is ranked 21 on the list of the fattest states in the United States.

More than half of U.S. adults aged 20 and older are overweight or obese. Men have a higher percentage of obesity than women in Wisconsin, and by race, blacks have the highest percentage of obese people, followed by Latinos and whites.

Obesity can lead to various diseases including cancer, diabetes, stroke, and coronary artery disease. Obesity in young children and teenagers have risen these last few decades as well. Some of the factors that lead to these staggering numbers include inactivity (leading cause), lack of sleep, genetics, and emotional instability.

Last year, the weight loss and diet control market was valued at $66 billion. The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) estimates that 75 percent of the U.S. population will likely be overweight or obese by 2020.
