Look for the lights. The big spotlights will be shining in Burlington for Light Up The Night from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday. Many Burlington area businesses will have extended hours and shopping specials to help you find that special gift. It’s all presented by the Burlington Area Chamber of Commerce. Strolling for art. Saturday is a great opportunity immerse yourself in Racine’s art scene. Downtown Racine Art Walk (DRAW) runs from 4 to 8 p.m. at 10 participating locations. Meet artists, get a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process and see what our artists have hand-made for the holidays. Uncorkt will be offering complimentary samples from two pop-up wine bars and there’s free admission to the Racine Art Museum. Visit www.racinedowntown.com
One night of art. Looking for a one-of-a-kind gift? The Pop-Up Holiday Market may be just what you’re seeking. This one-time event runs from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at The Branch at 1501, 1501 Washington Ave. It features handmade goods from more than 20 Racine area artisans. Free admission.
More than shopping. The University of Wisconsin-Parkside Winter Arts and Crafts Fair is a holiday season annual tradition! Held on the campus, 400 Wood Road, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, the event features more than 150 exhibitors. Admission and parking are free. There are shuttle buses to take you from the parking lots to the buildings. You’re invited to visit the Distinguished Artisans Raffle and Silent Auction for some very special items donated by exhibitors. Raffle proceeds will support a scholarship program.
Music and much more. Racine’s Regency Mall, 5538 Durand Ave., is presenting The Festive 5 all this week. It’s a free showcase of local performances to help kick off the holiday season. The remaining performances start at 5 p.m. Thursday with the Masters of Movement Arts dance company followed by singer Cheryl McCrary. On Friday, McCrary returns at 4 p.m. She’s followed by the HALO choir, Case High School Carolers, Dance Arts Center and singer Ariel Flora. A night of picking. Contemporary bluegrass and Americana music takes center stage with the band Freshwater. Show time is 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Olympia Brown Unitarian Universalist Church, 625 College Ave., Racine. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students.
