Marcella “Marcy” A. Knotek (NEE: STEIMLE), 87, died on Nov. 20. at Ascension All Saints Medical Center. She was born on February 21, 1931, in Racine. She was the daughter of the late August and Emma (Nee: Sladky) Steimle.
Marcy went to St. John Nepomuk Grade School growing up, and graduated from St. Catherine’s High School in 1946. She married Charles J. Knotek on October 13, 1984. Marcy worked at St. Catherine’s Hospital as a licensed practical nurse for twenty years plus. After that, Marcy was employed by Johnson Bank for some time. She was an active church-goer, attending St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church where she served as sacristan, Eucharistic minister, and volunteer. In her free time, Marcy enjoyed sports and traveling.
She will be missed by her loving husband of thirty-four years, Charles; her sister, Rosemary Steimle; five stepsons, Michael, Tom, Bill (Sandy), Peter (Sonali), and Andy (Tracy); five grandchildren; many in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her four brothers, Eugene, George, Richard, and Edward.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday, November 27 at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church.
