An 18-year-old Racine man faces a felony charge of first-degree sexual assault of a child younger than 13 years old.

The man, who is not being named to protect the victim’s identity, could receive a 60-year prison sentence if he’s convicted.

According to the criminal complaint: A Racine Police Department investigator attended a forensic interview of a 7-year-old boy, who stated the defendant had seen, touched and photographed his genitals. The boy also told the investigator the defendant took a photo of his penis using a flip phone.

Police learned the victim is related to the defendant. During the investigation, a second child relative revealed a possible sexual assault to police.

The man’s phone was seized and sent to the Department of Criminal Investigation for analysis. The defendant’s step-mother told police he is addicted to pornography.

Court records indicate the man is being held in police custody on a $50,000 cash bond. He is due back in Racine County Circuit Court for a preliminary hearing Dec. 12 at 8:30 a.m.
