Adeline Josephine Wirtz passed away on her 94th birthday, Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at Ascension All Saints Hospital. Born in Racine, Adeline was daughter to thee late Rudolph and Anna (Nee: Barina) Simanek.

She attended William Horlick High School, and on August 23, 1952, she married Marvin J. Wirtz at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church. Marvin passed away in 2013 in their sixtieth year of marriage. Adeline was a longtime member of St. Sebastian’s Catholic Church and the Ladies Altar Society. Her hobbies included reading and cooking, but her family was the most important thing in her life.

Survivors include her  children, Sharon Wirtz of Chandler, AZ, Patricia Fohr, John (Sheri) Wirtz, all of Racine; five grandchildren, Joshua (Jackie) Fohr, Christopher (Gerri) Wirtz, Kimberly Wirtz, Sarah (Jamie) McCluskey, Erik Wirtz; 11 great-grandchildren, Adam and Gracie Fohr, Colin and Mason Wirtz, Gabi, Brooklyn, and Kingston Robinson; KJ Wirtz, Gavin, Lucas, and Emma McCluskey; sister, Dolores Bauer; brother, Ralph (Jan) Simanek; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by siblings, Mildred Nelson, Beatrice Atherton, William Simanek, Mary Running, Betty Ward, Harry Simanek and Ann Jacobsen.

There will be a mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at 6 p.m. at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, located at 3100 95th Street in Sturtevant. Reverend Terry Huebner will be officiating. Private Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Friends and relatives can meet with the family from 4-6 p.m on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers memorials to the American Diabetes Association have been suggested.
