Pour yourself a glass of holiday merriment and help yourself to a serving of well wishes for all, because it’s that time of year for your favorite holiday hits.

Each year we are delighted by the onset of the holiday season. Thanksgiving, Diwali, Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Ōmisoka, New Year’s… no matter your religion, beliefs, or location, it’s the most wonderful time of the year!

One of the most enjoyable holiday practices is to sit around the television with friends and family and watch holiday-themed movies. Watching these movies with our loved ones induce feelings of nostalgia and togetherness, and no matter our age, we are once again reminded of what it’s like to be a kid. We asked our readers what their favorite holiday movies are, and here are some popular responses:

Denise Lockwood, the owner of the Racine County Eye, prefers A Christmas Story. Why?

“How can you go wrong with a character like Ralphie, who is dedicated to writing the perfect essay on why he should receive the ultimate Christmas present… the Red Rider BB gun. But his teacher tells him, he’ll shoot his eye out just like the other adults in his life,” Lockwood said. “And not to mention the scene where he receives a pink rabbit onesy made by his aunt. It’s a definite chuckle.”
