On Saturday, at 1:26 p.m., deputies from the Racine County Sheriff’s Office and members of the Burlington Rescue Squad were dispatched to a residence on South River Road in the Town of Burlington for a patient who was unresponsive and not breathing.

Upon arrival, deputies found a physician and bystander actively performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the patient. The first arriving deputy on scene quickly assessed the situation and noted the patient’s condition was not improving. The deputy utilized his department-issued automated external defibrillator (AED) device and a shock was delivered to the patient.

CPR was continued with the assistance of the physician and bystander until rescue personnel arrived. The patient regained consciousness and was responsive to medical treatment. The patient was transported to a local hospital and is currently in stable condition.
