Mount Pleasant, WI – A 26-year-old Chicago man is facing felony drug charges after police discovered several pounds of marijuana in his car during a traffic stop Monday night.
Evan Fendley faces a felony charge for possession with intent to deliver/manufacture marijuana, according to a press release by the Mount Pleasant Police Department.
An officer with the Mount Pleasant Police Department stopped Fendley for a traffic violation at 11:12 p.m. Monday on Highway 31 at Larchmont Drive. When he presented the officer with a U.S. Passport, the officer could smell the odor of marijuana coming from inside the car he was driving.
When the officer asked about the smell, Fendley explained that “he had a ‘joint’” and showed the joint to the officer. When searching Fendley’s car, police found over four pounds of marijuana and three cell phones.
“The packaging was consistent with the Distribution of Narcotics sales,” the press release reads.
Charges are expected to be filed by the Racine County District Attorney’s Office against Fendley. The matter remains under investigation.
