House of Harley-Davidson is moving to a bigger location and expanding their offerings, according to a story in the Journal Times.

The new dealership will cost more than $5 million dollars. Construction on this project is slated to begin in the spring, and the dealership will be open to the public next January.

House of Harley-Davidson owner Jeff Binkert said the current store in Mount Pleasant is too small, lacks visibility, and has limited parking. The store is only 14,000 square feet with 20 parking spaces, while the new dealership will be 50,000 square feet with 200 parking spaces.

It will be full-service and will have retail and storage spaces, and will deal in new and used motorcycles. Also, the Harley-Davidson Riding Academy will be hosted at the new location, which will be along the west Interstate 94 frontage road between Highway 20 and K. The current store will be offered as a sublet when vacated.

Venture Construction will be the general contractor for the project.
