The Foxconn Effect continues. According to published reports, a large distribution facility in Mount Pleasant, employing 250, will soon spring up on a 63-acre plot of land just east of Interstate-94 and south of Wisconsin Highway 20.
According to a report in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the complex will include an 858,000-square-foot building being built for R.C. Distribution. The newspaper cites plans that were filed with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
The project is not yet on the radar of Mount Pleasant officials, notes the newspaper, which cited Sam Schultz, community development director for the Village.

“The project would be a regional distribution center with 250 jobs, according to information filed with the DNR,” said the newspaper report. “The site would be developed by MLG Commercial, according to the DNR filing, with the building to be owned by R.C. Distribution.”
State documents note that work on the project could begin this year; work to include installing water mains, sewers, and roads. An adjacent frontage road will also be relocated. Work could be completed by 2020.
